Today’s Devotional- John 11:9–10

Jesus said, “…If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

Years ago, I visited a remote area with no electricity. I had to spend the night in the home of some locals, and in the middle of the night, I woke up needing to relieve myself outside, as there was no indoor bathroom. When I stepped outside, I was met with a darkness unlike anything I had ever experienced—thick, impenetrable darkness. I could barely see where I was stepping

The word of God is light which enlightens our paths to see clearly to walk where God has ordained for us. So that we can see clearly as we journey through life and not fall into the traps of the enemy. The Word of God brightens our path to see clearly what God is showing us, where to go, opportunities to take, the ones to refuse, who to trust or to deal with at arm’s length. A person who does not have the Word of God in him dwells in obscurity leading to a sinful lifestyle because they have no discernment to know which path God is leading them to take. 

Prayer: Lord, help me to spend time studying Your Word, and as I dig into Your Word, please give me understanding and a personal revelation of Your Word that will guide my path in life so I don't stray from Your plan and purpose for my life. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
